ABOUT THE CCC

The CCC (Concerned Calabogie Citizens) are local residents. The committee was formed on July 19, 2003.

Alarm bells went off as a result of some inquiries made at a similar track in Pennsylvania, which the track designer Alan Wilson had recommended as an example. The track promoters also led us to understand that all levels of government were in on it giving them full support. “It’s a done deal” was a common phrase used around Calabogie and apparently the residents would have no say in this matter.

Since then many concerned Calabogie residents have approached us. Two of our members have all ready experienced living in proximity to a racetrack and do not want to repeat the experience.

Our goal is to inform the residents of Greater Madawaska about the pitfalls of such a venture. It does not fit in with the quality of life presently experienced in the community.
